BUSINESS RESOURCES

Welcome to the City of Lemoore Business Resources page. We're glad you're here! If you are considering starting a new business in Lemoore, at home, in an existing building, or constructing a new building, then you have come to the right place!

The first thing you need to know is what not to do. Do not sign any rental or lease agreements with a landlord for a specific site until you have checked with the Community Development Department.

Planning staff will make sure that the site where you are contemplating opening your business is zoned properly for your proposed use by reviewing the General Plan Land Use Diagram, Zoning Map, and Zoning Land Use Regulation. If the site is not zoned properly, you might not be able to open your business there, or you might need to get additional approvals. You may need an approved Sign Application before ordering any permanent signs.

Building Inspections staff will check to see if there are any site improvements that need to be made to the building before you can open your business, such as, State and Federal mandates regarding Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance; the California Building Codes; fire and building safety requirements; and others. Please review the Building Inspection Checklist for Existing Buildings and Plan Check Submittal Requirements for Businesses. Most construction requires a Building Permit Application.

If you need assistance locating a site for your business, contact Planning at (559) 924-6744. Once you have a site, you will need to apply for a Business License through the Finance Department at (559) 924-6744. A Business License Information Guide is available to assist you.

In addition to the links above, below is a list of city departments and documents you may need to get your new business started. We are here to help you succeed!
