The Public Works Department coordinated engineering activities with the contract City Engineer, Quad Knopf. Quad Knopf's company history follows:
QUAD Consultants was established in 1972 in Visalia, California by former city manager, Harry Tow, and former community development director, Randall Zeeb. During the first year of business, QUAD Consultants became City Engineers for the Cities of Woodlake, Exeter and Farmersville. Over the years, the firm became City Engineers for Corcoran, Dinuba and Lemoore.
QUAD Consultants established the Bakersfield branch office in 1976, followed by Fresno in 1984, and the Sacramento Region office in 1982. As the firm grew, complimentary disciplines were added to the firmís services, Surveying, Land Use and Environmental Planning, Architecture, Environmental Biological Sciences, GIS/GPS, and Landscape Architecture.
In 1997, QUAD Consultants merged with Knopf Engineering, a Visalia based Engineering firm. The combination has provided new strengths in civil engineering, surveying and GIS services.
Today, Quad Knopf employs over 150 people in five offices located in Bakersfield, Visalia, Fresno, Roseville and Reno.
